Here are some of the questions raised during our Question and Answer session with our doctors.

1. I often drip after passing urine and wet my underwear. Is this cause for concern?

Dripping after passing urine is maybe normal in younger men, especially when there are no other prostate symptoms. But should there be any symptoms, there's a possibility of prostate enlargement and seeking a doctor’s opinion is highly recommended

2. Can prostate diseases be prevented?

Daily consumption of less meat, more tomatoes, soy products, Vitamin E and Selenium is known to reduce the incidence of prostate cancer. However, we cannot really prevent benign prostate enlargement.

1. What is the best and safest method to remove moles on skin? What are the costs?

The best way to remove moles is excise them. We can be sure that they are completely removed, and they can be sent for analysis so that we know their exact nature. Unfortunately, it leaves a scar. Cost varies according to the size and location of the mole. It can range from about S$300 to S$1000.

2. My grandchildren are very active in outdoor activities and always get sunburnt. They always forget to use sun block. Any advise?

Sun protection should start at an early age. It is good to reinforce the importance of using a sunscreen to them. In addition to sunscreens, there are other measures that can be adopted to minimize sun exposure. These include avoiding sports from 11am to 3pm, wearing a hat/cap and protective clothes… etc.
